Our History

Thanks to his experience at the World Bank and the United Nations, Alexandre Borde founds Carbonium in 2004 by proposing a consulting service through his high level international expertise in climate change and renewable energies.

In late 2007, the company begins its operations in various developing and emerging countries in Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and Africa. Carbonium specializes in Kyoto/EnR projects.

Carbonium strengthens its experience in advising large groups and companies. In 2010, the company signs a strategic partnership with the world's largest producer of electricity from renewable energy, the Norwegian company Statkraft.

In 2012, Philippe Coste (former French Ambassador) joins Carbonium as Associate and Deputy Managing Director. The company also has a strategic committee. As early as 2014, the company starts advising countries on the new UNFCCC governing body, the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
